Investigator Edmond reported unknown with the number 0102490098 as Trustworthy number
I received a call from number 021-140-0509 purporting to be from Standard Bank (i.e. a 'trustworthy number'), warning of fraudulent transactions on my card and requesting that I call them on a 0800 number or on +27-10-2490098. It was a machine generated voice. I immediately went online and saw multiple unauthorised transactions on my account, some of which were approved and some declined. I looked up Standard Bank number to report fraud. They stopped my card and blocked my account pending investigation. I believe that this call was from the fraudsters masquerading as Standard Bank. Take extreme care.
